Fujitsu will begin selling FUJITSU-MONAKA, a Japan-designed and manufactured 2nm CPU for AI inference, from November 202
Fujitsu Limited announced today that it will commence global sales of its next-generation CPU, FUJITSU-MONAKA, designed and developed in Japan, beginning November 2026. The processor will be available as a standalone product for cloud and data center operators and server vendors. The company will also launch the Fujitsu MONAKA Server, equipped with the FUJITSU-MONAKA CPU, which will be broadly available from November 2026 to data center operators, enterprises, academic institutions, and HPC sectors in Japan and Europe as a sovereign AI infrastructure solution.
The FUJITSU-MONAKA CPU combines Fujitsu's expertise in processor and server development to achieve world-class computational performance and data supply capabilities, with a maximum operating frequency of 3.8GHz and memory transfer speed of 8800MT/s. The processor delivers twice the AI inference throughput compared to other CPUs while offering superior power efficiency, effectively reducing by half the number of servers and power consumption required for equivalent processing loads.
The Fujitsu MONAKA Server enhances sovereign capabilities through domestic manufacturing, contributing to supply chain transparency and traceability. With power and installation space as significant challenges for AI infrastructure expansion, the CPU server can independently build an AI inference platform. Its space-saving and power-efficient design enables deployment in air-cooled data centers, substantially increasing customer capacity for AI infrastructure expansion. The server supports future scalability through resource pooling technology and reduces cooling energy consumption using Fujitsu's advanced cooling technologies.
Fujitsu is committed to supporting customer autonomy and accountability by providing sustainable sovereign AI infrastructure with high operability. The FUJITSU-MONAKA technology was developed with support from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, or NEDO.
