Nscale data center operator hires Justin Osofsky, Meta's former VP of Infrastructure, as Chief Operating Officer.
Nscale has hired Justin Osofsky, formerly of Meta, as its new chief operating officer. Osofsky will report directly to CEO and founder Josh Payne as the AI cloud company advances toward an initial public offering, which it hopes will raise as much as $3 billion.
Osofsky spent nearly two decades at Meta, most recently serving as chief partnerships officer. Reflecting on the move in a LinkedIn post, he wrote: "After 18 years at Meta, I'm joining Josh Payne and the team at Nscale as its new chief operating officer. Meta is where I have spent most of my career and is a remarkable company. I learned so much from the people I worked with and leave behind wonderful colleagues and, more importantly, close friends. In Josh's recent founder letter, he writes, 'discipline remains central to how we scale.' That line stuck with me as I decided to make this move. Growing with discipline is what lasts. I'm joining Nscale to be a partner to Josh. He and the team have built something impressive, and I'm excited to help guide the company into its next phase."
Payne said: "Nscale is rapidly scaling our vertically integrated platform globally to serve high customer demand. Building the right systems and processes that scale and maintain operational excellence is of vital importance to our mission. Justin has spent nearly two decades helping build and scale one of the most successful technology companies in the world. We are incredibly fortunate to have him join us as our chief operating officer."
Nscale has also appointed Amy Banse to its board of directors. Banse serves on the boards of Adobe, Lennar Corporation, and On Holding AG.
The company recently secured $3.36 billion in pre-IPO funding and has published its IPO prospectus, targeting a Nasdaq listing.
In related personnel moves, Tommy Browder has joined OpenAI as a power land developer, departing from Advanced Power where he held the position of senior director of development. Separately, Otto Chan, Google's VP of AI and infrastructure, has joined Mastercard as executive vice president and chief technology officer of infrastructure and operations.
