Broadcom의 AI 칩 매출이 최근 분기에 커스텀 실리콘과 네트워킹 수요에 힘입어 전년 대비 221% 급증했다.
Broadcom reported fiscal third-quarter results that exceeded even bullish AI forecasts. AI semiconductor revenue reached $16.7 billion for the quarter ended August 2, representing a 221% year-over-year increase and a 54% sequential jump from the prior quarter.
The AI segment now accounts for approximately 56% of Broadcom's total revenue, which totaled $29.6 billion—an 86% increase from the same quarter last year.
Broadcom's semiconductor solutions category, which encompasses its AI products, generated $20.8 billion in revenue, a 127% year-over-year increase driven almost entirely by strong demand for custom AI accelerators and networking products. The company's remaining performance obligations stood at approximately $179.2 billion as of August 2, up from $164.6 billion in the prior quarter.
Broadcom's customer base reflects the scale of enterprise AI investment. Alphabet, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Meta Platforms are all major customers, each purchasing the custom AI accelerators known as XPUs or ASICs that Broadcom designs.
The company raised its full-year fiscal 2026 AI revenue guidance to approximately $58 billion. For the fourth quarter, Broadcom expects AI semiconductor revenue of about $21.7 billion, representing a 236% year-over-year increase, with total Q4 revenue projected at roughly $34.8 billion.
Looking ahead, Broadcom is forecasting AI revenue of around $115 billion for fiscal 2027 and approximately $230 billion for fiscal 2028.
Despite these exceptional results, the stock market's reaction was mixed, with some investors focusing on cautious elements within the guidance rather than the headline growth figures. The $14.6 billion quarterly increase in remaining performance obligations underscores the pace at which new contracts are being signed, outpacing even the rapid rate of revenue recognition.
