President Donald Trump is reportedly ruling out nationalizing artificial intelligence labs like OpenAI and Anthropic, but is considering taking an equity stake in them instead, modeled on the government's stake in Intel Corp. California lawmakers moved Thursday to tighten rules for robotaxi operators after emergency-response disruptions, with a new law requiring on-the-ground help and allowing penalties when autonomous vehicles obstruct police or firefighters for more than 30 minutes. In a separate enforcement action, authorities arrested a California man on federal charges alleging he helped smuggle more than $300 million worth of export-controlled computer servers reportedly containing Nvidia GPUs to China without the required licenses.
