Indian IT services firm AMI placed an order for 9,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs to expand its Hyderabad facility.

AM Intelligence (AMI), an infrastructure platform established by Greenko promoters, placed a binding order on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, for 9,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs. The hardware will power what the company described as its first artificial intelligence factory in Hyderabad.

The order covers the deployment of the 9,000 GPUs as Vera Rubin NVL72 systems at AMI’s 30-megawatt facility in Hyderabad during the first quarter of 2027. According to a press release, the site is expected to become one of Asia’s first frontier AI computing clusters built around the Vera Rubin platform.

This Hyderabad installation represents the initial tranche of AMI’s broader ambition to deploy 1 gigawatt of Compute-as-a-Service capacity across India, the United States, Finland, and Malaysia. In the near term, the company plans to bring 200 megawatts of capacity online, requiring capital expenditure exceeding USD 8 billion.

“For over two decades, we have focused on transforming electrons into value — addressing critical and emerging societal needs,” said AMI chairman Anil Chalamalasetty. “Today, the electron-to-token opportunity allows us to take this capability further, converting power infrastructure into frontier AI compute at scale.” He added, “Bringing the latest-generation NVIDIA Vera Rubin to India marks the next step in this journey and establishes AMI at the forefront of the emerging AI electron-to-token economy.”

Beyond the Hyderabad site, AMI is developing 5 gigawatts of powered AI data centres across India, the U.S., and Europe. These facilities are engineered for high-density AI workloads and will utilize liquid cooling systems to manage the substantial power consumption and thermal output of advanced AI chips. The designs will also support the integration of successive generations of AI silicon. The centres aim to serve hyperscalers, sovereign AI initiatives, frontier research laboratories, and AI-native enterprises.
