HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced plans to develop a large-scale AI data centre campus in Hyderabad. Spanning more than 250 acres, the facility will have a capacity of up to 1GW. HyperVault and its partners are set to invest up to Rs 70,000 crore in building and managing the infrastructure, which will support frontier AI companies and hyperscalers. The project is projected to generate 7,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy described the initiative as ‘historic’, not only for Telangana but for India, following a meeting with TCS’ HyperVault officials. “This establishes that Hyderabad is now at the forefront of the global AI revolution with a strong focus on infrastructure. This decade is one of Artificial Intelligence,” he stated. He added, “Access to AI models and compute is fast-becoming public infrastructure and having this compute reside in Telangana gives us an advantage.”

Once completed, the campus will rank among the most advanced and largest AI infrastructure facilities in India. The development will incorporate green energy sources and water-neutral design principles, further cementing Telangana’s status as a strategic hub for artificial intelligence and advanced digital infrastructure. State IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, who led negotiations at record speed to secure a milestone partnership, emphasized the state’s commitment to efficient governance. “We tell the investors and corporations across the world, Telangana Means Business. We move at speed and with clarity of process that matches the expectations of the tech and corporate world,” he said.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran noted that Telangana successfully outcompeted five other states to secure the project. K Krithivasan, CEO of TCS, highlighted the strategic alignment of the venture: “HyperVault advances TCS’ Infrastructure-to-Intelligence strategy by bringing together AI-ready infrastructure with our cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities. Hyderabad offers the scale, talent and ecosystem to serve global customers."

Deepesh Nanda, Managing Director and CEO of HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, outlined the technical vision behind the project. “We are building infrastructure for where AI is going: higher density, liquid cooling, larger power blocks and faster deployment. Hyderabad gives us the foundation to build that at scale for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers.”
