To own Hut 8, one must believe the company can evolve from a Bitcoin-centric miner into a scaled digital infrastructure landlord with long-dated, contracted cash flows. The Beacon Point Phase 2 lease materially reinforces this narrative in the near term by fully contracting the 1,000 MW campus with an investment-grade tenant. However, execution risk on multi-year builds and the capital intensity of AI data centers remain the most important near-term catalyst and the biggest operational risk.

Among earlier announcements, the River Bend AI data center agreement stands out as most relevant to Beacon Point. Together, River Bend's initial 245 MW and Beacon Point's now-contracted 704 MW frame Hut 8's shift toward power-first, AI-focused infrastructure with long-term leases to investment-grade counterparties. This shift sits at the heart of the current catalyst: whether Hut 8 can consistently turn contracted megawatts into realized cash flow while managing construction timelines, tenant delivery, and balance sheet pressure.

While Beacon Point's contracts look reassuring, investors should be aware that execution risk across these large, capital-heavy builds remains substantial.

Hut 8's narrative projects $1.6 billion in revenue and $314.8 million in earnings by 2029. This requires 77.4% yearly revenue growth and approximately $626.2 million in earnings improvement from negative $311.4 million today. The company's forecasts yield a fair value estimate of $156.82, representing 46% upside to the current price.

Before this news, the most pessimistic analysts were assuming approximately $1.0 billion in revenue and $114.9 million in earnings by 2029. Those who believe contracted AI data centers and longer-term leases can genuinely offset Bitcoin volatility may view this scenario as too harsh, though it is worth remembering how differently investors can evaluate the same company.
