Backed by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks and Sequoia Capital, the round signals that the AI race is no longer judged solely by model performance. It is now equally about capital access, cloud partnerships, enterprise adoption and the ability to secure enough compute to push frontier models forward.
At $965 billion, Anthropic now sits roughly $235 billion ahead of OpenAI's benchmark, placing the company close to the trillion-dollar mark. This matters because private AI valuations have become a proxy for confidence in enterprise AI adoption. Anthropic's Claude has gained traction as a workplace-focused AI assistant, and the company's reported run-rate revenue above $47 billion suggests that demand extends beyond early pilot projects.
