An Eastern Kentucky data center developer indicated plans to potentially double the campus size, suggesting strong local load demand and permit availability.
TeraWulf, a data center developer, has signaled significant expansion plans for its Eastern Kentucky operations. According to the Kentucky Lantern, Chairman and CEO Paul Prager told investors the company is "increasingly optimistic" about the potential to expand the project to 2 gigawatts, effectively doubling its current capacity.
The company previously acquired the Muskie Data Campus and established electric service and infrastructure agreements with Kentucky Power Company that provide for up to 1 gigawatt of contracted electric service.
In addition to the Muskie campus, TeraWulf is developing a separate facility in Hancock County. The company executed a 20-year lease agreement for an AI infrastructure campus at that location, which will accommodate approximately 401 megawatts of critical IT load.
