Xidi Semiconductor recently completed a tens of millions of RMB angel and follow-on funding round led jointly by Suzhou Creative Investment and Jingxia Capital, with Houelang Capital serving as strategic financial advisor. Proceeds will fund solid-state transformer (SST) power module R&D, product iteration, and supply chain infrastructure.

Founded in 2023, Xidi specializes in power semiconductor module R&D, manufacturing, and sales. Products include all-SiC power modules, IGBT+SiC hybrid modules, and customized solutions for photovoltaic energy storage, data center power, and solid-state transformers.

The company has developed approximately 60 products, with more than 50 in mass production. Products are primarily SiC three-level power modules, serving new-type power systems, green energy, and intelligent terminals across the SST, photovoltaic, energy storage, and intelligent charging sectors.

Xidi ranks first in SST segment shipments. Founder Li Fabao noted that the company's strength lies in providing both products and solutions. Beyond power devices, Xidi supplies driver design, system hardware reference architectures, and supporting services to reduce end-customer development cycles.

The company is investing heavily in solid-state transformer technology. SST is considered critical infrastructure for next-generation power systems, though achieving high power conversion efficiency and system reliability under high-voltage, high-frequency conditions remains challenging. Multiple technical domains—power semiconductors, electromagnetic design, thermal management, and control systems—present significant technical barriers.

Xidi has developed high-power SiC modules for SST applications, optimizing system-level design using a proprietary simulation platform. The company's 2MW-class SST power module has completed grid-connection validation with leading enterprises and is now undergoing field testing with end customers.

Beyond power equipment, Xidi is deploying high-power-density solutions in energy storage. As large-capacity cells (587Ah, 600Ah and above) enter the market, energy storage converter (PCS) power ratings are rising. Xidi has introduced a 430kW all-SiC three-level single-module solution to support next-generation high-capacity storage systems.

The company has also developed PLSIM, a power electronics simulation platform. Originally developed for internal R&D, PLSIM has evolved to version 4.0, supporting power device modeling, topology simulation, thermal simulation, and system-level validation. By integrating design, simulation, and data management into one platform, Xidi aims to improve power electronics R&D efficiency.

Core team members have worked at Delta Electronics, AOS, Renesas, and Emerson, bringing extensive R&D and industrialization experience in power semiconductors and power electronics.

**On frontier technical capabilities:** Li Fabao attributed progress to deep team expertise in power electronics and semiconductors, combined with understanding of both device design and system applications. PLSIM's integration of simulation, validation, and development workflows accelerates system-level optimization and product iteration. The company also conducts joint R&D with leading domestic power enterprises, combining industrial requirements with semiconductor technology capabilities.

**On PLSIM's development:** Though not initially intended for external markets, PLSIM was built from inception as an internal R&D tool. The team invested early and extensively, accumulating substantial technical and data foundations. As large language models advanced, Xidi integrated AI agents into PLSIM to assist with specification reviews, drawing generation and validation, and design verification, while maintaining engineer-led verification and feedback to ensure accuracy and reliability. Unlike general EDA tools, PLSIM focuses on power semiconductors, supporting system-level simulation, efficiency analysis, and co-design. Beyond internal use, some industry customers now access functionality through the online platform.

**On production and future direction:** Xidi now manufactures over one million power modules annually. New energy dominates, representing approximately 80% of business—primarily energy storage and photovoltaic generation, with the remainder in power equipment and data center power. Future investment will prioritize solid-state transformers and AI data centers, focusing on high-power-density modules, system solutions, and new product development.
