Envision's super-computing hub in Ulanqab operationalized as world's largest single AI computing facility
On August 6, Envision Group announced the completion of the world's largest single AI computing supercomputer unit in Ulanqab, marking the official commissioning of Envision's Xingyuan Base in Ulanqab. The supercomputer unit employs ultra-high proportions of renewable energy with direct connection, and with 120,000 square meters of building space (approximately 20 standard football fields), million-card parallel capacity, and computing power at the million-P scale, it has become the single AI data center with the strongest global token output capability, setting new records for AI infrastructure density.
Envision's Xingyuan Base in Ulanqab is a super-computing hub constructed in the Gobi desert, with the park's total planned capacity exceeding 2GW, positioning it to become China's largest AI computing park and token factory. As the flagship project marking the launch of the "Gobi Mission," this base precisely addresses domestic demand for million-card interconnection, providing a replicable Chinese solution for domestic computing clusters.
Currently, domestic AI computing is accelerating toward ten-million-card and even million-card interconnection to compete on equal footing with global computing giants. Envision's Xingyuan Base, with its supercomputer unit carrying million-P computing power, consolidates million cards within the single unit, leveraging the cluster's total computing capability to enhance Chinese chips' global competitiveness.
However, a supercomputer unit cannot succeed simply by being large in space. Sustaining the operation of a million-card deployment requires a super AI power system. As the saying goes, "supplies must arrive before the troops can move." The supercomputer unit requires not only sufficient power supply but also stable and efficient power transmission and energy storage systems. Envision's AI power system can create a dedicated "energy superhighway" and "power granary" for the supercomputer unit. Consequently, the Xingyuan Base in Ulanqab can achieve ten times the computing output density of traditional data centers of equivalent size, and will continue to set global records with its ultra-high computing density.
However, the "ammunition" for computing clusters extends beyond electricity alone. Ten-million-card and million-card clusters are extremely sensitive to network latency, with even microscopic delays amplified exponentially by the system. Ulanqab is precisely one of the eight major nodes in the national "East Data, West Computing" initiative, enjoying inherent network latency advantages capable of efficiently supporting real-time online computing demands. Meanwhile, the region possesses nationally leading wind and solar resources, with green electricity comprising 67% of the total energy mix. The "Envision Xingyuan Base" fully leverages local wind energy advantages, achieving green electricity supply through self-built wind farms and dedicated transmission lines, establishing a solid green energy foundation for the world's largest AI supercomputer unit with the highest renewable energy proportion.
Zheng Zihao, General Manager of Envision Group's AIDC (Artificial Intelligence Data Center), stated: "Chinese chips are pursuing a path of clustered breakthrough. Envision's supercomputer unit provides the strongest support for this 'army group': a large enough deployment base, sufficient energy supply, and smooth energy replenishment channels. The 'Envision Xingyuan Base' is leveraging its supercomputer unit to support large-scale deployment of domestic computing clusters, providing the strongest support for China's computing explosion."
Based on domestic chips' multifaceted requirements for larger deployment space, higher interconnection efficiency, and stable green power, the "Envision Xingyuan Base" employs a "supercomputer unit + AI power system" combination approach, providing domestically customized soil for domestic computing clusters. This solution not only addresses current domestic market computing bottlenecks but also charts a path for China's AI computing infrastructure to reach the global stage.
Public information shows that in June 2026, Envision officially launched the "Gobi Mission" at the VivaTech summit in France, with the goal of building 5GW of green AI computing centers across global Gobi desert regions by 2030. As the first step of the "Gobi Mission," Envision's Xingyuan Base in Ulanqab is becoming a showroom for how China's AI computing centers venture into the world.
Zheng Zihao told reporters that the "Envision Xingyuan Base" primarily addresses the urgent needs of leading technology and AI companies for large-scale domestic computing use, dedicated to tailoring a "new energy + AI computing infrastructure" Chinese solution for China's computing landscape. "Looking forward, we will bring replicable Chinese AI data center solutions to regions globally facing urgent computing demands, weak energy infrastructure, and scarce electrical resources."
